Oh, wouldn't it be wonderful, if there was a shortcut to creating? A combination of keys on your keyboard that you could press: Ctrl-Alt-Create.
What a wonderful key combination. What a wonderful shortcut that would be!
Just like Copy-Pasting (with Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V...on your keyboard).
Except Ctr-Alt-Create would not just copy, it would MAKE YOU CREATE.
(And I am not talking about AI creating for you.)
Ctrl-Alt-Create would make YOU create instantly. Unblock. Unlock. All those creative ideas that are inside of you.

Those days would be over: where you sit at your desk or you stand in your studio and you feel blocked. Scared. Out of ideas or with a million ideas but no idea where to start...
That magical key combination would turn off your inner critic. It would turn off the feeling of not being good enough or fast enough or successful enough.
Creativity and productivity would just flow. You would feel instantly happy and productive.
While I keep dreaming of that button...
I do not want to leave you feeling disappointed, that I did not provide you with the key combination of Ctrl-Alt-Create.
So here are 4 actual shortcuts you can use to get yourself into creator mode!
I recommend doing a few or all of them before you get started with creating - to really push those inner Ctrl-Alt-Create buttons.
If you feel stuck again or your inner critic acts up while creating, repeat one or multiple of the steps and then get back into creator mode!
1. MOVE
Get up and jump. Shake your arms and hands too. Do this for at least 1 minute or more!
Here, use a timer or shake with Taylor' song. It'll help. Go for it. Then come back and keep reading.
(If this is not physically possible for you, find your own way to move or shake some body parts for at least one minute.)
If you are sitting in a cafe and feel too embarrassed to get up and jump, just ask someone to join you! ;-)
Or get up and walk for a couple of minutes... to the bathroom, the counter, outside... before you sit back down. Move!
2. FEEL
Pick three ways that you would like to feel while or after creating - write these 3 words down somewhere visible.
How would you feel if you hit Ctr-Alt-Create now... how would you feel if inspiration struck you right now? Motivated... proud... happy... joyful... focused...
Pick 3 feelings and write them REALLY BIG somewhere on your computer or on a piece of paper, your hand, or a sticky note, even better!
3. BREATHE
Take a couple of deep and slow breaths into your belly. Now focus on one word after the other - as you keep breathing slowly and deeply.
Place your hands on your belly and feel it move.
Take at least three deep breaths while focusing on your word number 1 and focus on how it would feel. How great would it be, to create and feel like this! Where do you feel this feeling when it is present? Remember this feeling. How does it usually feel?
After a few slow and deep breaths into your belly go to your feeling number 2. Take a few deep breaths for that word, imagine it. Connect with that feeling.
Take your time. Slow, deep breaths into your belly. Do the same for feeling number 3.
Wonderful.
4. PLAY
Now let's decide that "judgement day" is tomorrow.
Today less: bitching, less whining, less judging.
And more: Playing, trying out, daring, creating.
After you complete this step you will start to create, any judgment on what you create can come tomorrow!
"Judgement day" is tomorrow. I give you a free pass right now:
Anything you create today is okay. It is part of the process. Today there is no good or bad, you just get it all out and allow it to flow out of you.
Create. Put it out there right now. Even get out the ideas that seem not good enough or silly. Because they need to get out of your head too.
Today I allow you to make mistakes.
You get a free pass. Today, right now, in fact, you practice and create. Get ALL the ideas out. Try everything you want. If critical thoughts come, don't suppress them, notice them, but invite them for judgment day... tomorrow.
Today is your creative party! Play, practice and start the process now.
Put in your calendar for today: Creative Play Party for .... (insert the creative project/task you do right after reading this article).
Go on! Write it in your calendar right now. Or write it on a sticky note, take a good look at it, and...
Remember: All ideas are allowed out today! I give you permission. Ctrl-Alt-Create! Go. I believe in you. xx Nora Flora
